Books to get your started in Druidry

On Saturday, we performed the opening ritual for San Diego's Pagan Pride Day and talked with many interesting pagans. Inspired by the discussions with these wonderful people, I decided to provide a list of books that will help you learn more about our tradition of Druidry under ADF. Most of these books are published by our parent organization.

Books by Ian Corrigan:

  • Sacred Fire, Holy Well = This is a great primer for understanding ADF and its teachings. Get this first.

Books by Isaac Bonewits:

Welcome to our Grove

Greetings and Merry Meet! We are San Diego's largest and oldest-continually-operating Grove.

We'd like to invite those interested in a Druid path to join us to join the Coast Oak Grove, A.D.F. located in central San Diego. The grove was founded to explore the path of nature based Indo-European Druidry. It is open to followers of Druidism, Modern Druidry and those interested in learning more about the Druid path.

Fearsome Gods

"The fearsome Gods do not ask us to recite creeds but to embody Their virtues. They do not ask for flattering praise but for service to the greater good. They do not tell us everything will be OK, They show us how things really are so we can make them OK.
As we leave this sacred hour and return to the ordinary world, may the wisdom and valor of the fearsome Gods be with you and in you, both now and in the times to come."
-- Benediction by John Beckett

Copy cat christ figure

In an effort to help non-druids understand why we are not Christian, please let me provide the following links by researchers and theologians. You can refute their ideas and conclusions, but you should use facts and reason. Not everyone comes to the same conclusions as another person. I find these reasonable and likely correct. Your mileage may vary.

Ancient Confession Found: 'We Invented Jesus Christ'

Lughnasadh 2015

We will hold Lughnasadh / Lamas in Balboa Park at the south/ lower end of Marsden Point. Just take the access road past juniper street (it is one-way) until you find us. We will have the banner up. We will meet at 530 and have a potluck before--so if you can make it, please bring a main or hearty side dish to share. Please bring plates and utensils on our effort to be responsible stewards of mother earth. With any threats of rain, if it is raining we will cancel the ritual.

35 Quotes from the Founding Fathers of the USA

Here is a great link with quotes that will upset conservative Christians regarding America and their misconception of a Christian Nation. I provide this link because the United States is founded upon the principle of freedom of religion or freedom from religion as the case may be.

Reconstructionism - What It Is, What It Isn't, and Why I Love It

Here is a great article Reconstructionism - What It Is, What It Isn't, and Why I Love It on what reconstruction actually means. In our religion, there is a lot of confusion and frustration around the terms reconstruction, revival, and reformation. This is one point of view.

Blessings, honor and worship to the holy ones
